Common Problems you WILL encounter.
From time to time you will lose all EPG data and you will be unable to view any channels. This is how you fix that problem:
1. Turn on the Digibox.
2. On the Sky remote control press the SERVICES button
3. On the Sky remote control press 401 (four zero one) and then the SELECT button.
4. If the above has been done correctly you will see the Installer Setup Menu screen. If you do not see the Installer Setup Menu screen then start this process again.
5. Press 2 on your Sky remote control.
6. If done correctly you will see the Default Transponder screen.
7. On the Sky remote control press 11740 (one one seven four zero). This will change the default FREQUENCY to 11.740.
8. Ensure that the default POLARIZATION is V.
Ensure that the default SYMBOL RATE is 27.5.
Ensure that the default FEC is 2/3.
9. On the Sky remote control press the DOWN ARROW button to get to the SAVE option, then press SELECT. This will SAVE NEW SETTINGS and return you to the Installer Setup Menu screen.
10. On the Sky remote control press the BACK UP button until you exit all the menus.
If done correctly the time will appear on the white bar, and picture will shortly reappear try channel 501 (Sky News).
If after doing this "default transponder" process you still do not have access to your channels, then try repeating the process.
It may be that there is another issue with your satellite installation (LNB problem, dish needs realigning) and you will need to call an engineer.
A sky digibox should always return to the default transponder frequency of 11778.
The default transponder is only used to help the digibox get the main information it requires from the satellite during boot up. The main frequency of 11778 holds the full 7 days programme guide and all the information a sky box needs to help it boot up....but at certain times of the day, and in many locations in Europe, 11778 is very weak, and therefore the digibox cannot get access to the information it requires.
So you help the digibox get this information by asking it to look at an alternate frequency, as all frequencies hold a minimum amount of programme guide information approx 6 hours.
Once the box has got all the information it needs, pictures will be seen, and in 99.9% of the time the default transponder will return to 11.778.
To add extra channels, go to System Setup, Add Channels then for ITV, set the frequency to 12,402, rate 27.5, FEC 2/3, or for Channel 4, set the frequency to 12,480, rate 27.5, FEC 2/3, then select Find Channels.
