
The Left hand section of the Start menu contains the following options: Internet, E-mail, Shortcuts to the last six programs you have used recently, and the All Programs menu.
The Internet shortcut opens your default Internet browser. The default browser is initially set to Microsoft Internet Explorer, but fortunately you can change this to any browser of your choice.
The E-mail shortcut starts your default email program so you can read or send email. The default email program is initially set to Microsoft Outlook Express, but fortunately you can change this to any email program of your choice.
The rest of the icons down the left hand side of the Start menu have been remembered by Windows as recently used programs, so they will change depending on which programs you use the most. These are the initial program shortcuts which you may find there.
This icon starts the Address Book so you can add or view contacts.
This icon starts the WordPad program. You can edit or create formatted text and graphics in letters and other documents.
